KwaZulu-Natal has world-class sport infrastructure, an active school and club hockey culture, a warm winter climate, and a destination story that no other hockey tour location can match.
What KZN sport has lacked is a commercial layer. Schools spend over a million rand a year on hockey with zero commercial return. Tournaments happen and disappear. Sponsors come once and never return. International operators cannot find a credible, hockey-specific ground representative.
SmartSports builds that layer. Three products. Each solving a distinct problem. Together covering every layer of sport, from commercial support, to event planning, to ground delivery.

SMARTSPORTS is not a startup idea.
SMARTSPORTS has been built on the back of many years of experience. We understand how to design and monetise the ecosystem around sport, sponsorship frameworks, commercial partner networks, digital audiences, and destination-level tourism infrastructure.
That experience isn’t theoretical. We are on the ground in KwaZulu-Natal, already coordinating, already building the stakeholder network, already operating from one of South Africa’s most Elite and well known Hockey Clubs.
With 30 years of direct operational experience across the exact verticals the business integrates:
- 15 years global travel, and tourism and hospitality experience
- 15 years in Graphic design
- digital marketing and business development coach
- A sports event digital lead and commercial strategist
- A hockey player.
This strategy codifies the commercial architecture around operational work that is already underway, and brings networks, credibility, and commercial relationships in both hemispheres, a genuine asset when building the bridge between international touring demand and the KZN hockey ecosystem.
